
Halo-halo
Every Filipinos love this dessert especially during summer to compensate for the weather. The name literally means “Mix-Mix” referring to the hodgepodge of ingredients.
Ingredients:·
- kaong (sweet palm fruit)
- macapuno (silky coconut)
- Lanka (jackfruit)
- munggo(mung beans)
- saba (fat banana variety)
- ube (purple yam)
- mais (corn)
- nata de coco (coconut gelatin)
- pinipig (crisped rice)
- sago (pearls similar to boba)
- stick-o stick (optional)

Combine kaong, macapuno, langka and red munggo in a parfait glass. Other possible ingredients are slices of saba, chunks of ube, mais, nata de coco, and pinipig.
Top with shaved ice, evaporated milk, and a scoop of ice cream.
